Arson and homicide units investigate fire at downtown apartment building
The police arson and homicide units are investigating a fire at a downtown apartment complex Sunday morning that sent a man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded to the report of a fire at an apartment building near 115th Street and 107th Avenue at about 7:40 a.m.
Firefighters contained the blaze and residents were evacuated.
A 54-year-old man was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Police say the fire is considered suspicious.
