Aston Villa and Leicester City face off on Tuesday night for a place in the Carabao Cup final.

The first leg of this semi-final ended 1-1 at the King Power Stadium, and with the tie finely poised, it will come down to a battle of wits (and nerves) between Dean Smith's Villa and Brendan Rodgers' Foxes.

With Manchester City favourites to overcome rivals Manchester United in the other semi-final, a Wembley battle against Pep Guardiola awaits the victors at Villa Park.

Date: Tuesday, January 28th, 2020

Venue: Villa Park, Birmingham

Kick-off time: 7:45pm GMT

Prediction: Aston Villa 1-2 Leicester

The first tie was a tight affair, but Leicester were able to rest some key players at Brentford and still pick up an FA Cup win on Saturday - expect the Foxes to get the result.

Team news

Villa: Dean Smith has called on new Villa signing Mbwana Samatta to make an immediate impact.

Smith also has another striker in Keinan Davis available again after three months out with a hamstring injury, but midfielder Danny Drinkwater is ineligible after playing in an earlier round in the competition while on loan with Burnley.

Leicester: Jamie Vardy is set to return from a hamstring injury. Asked whether Vardy could manage 90 minutes, Rodgers said: "Will he be 100%?

"He might only be at 80% fitness but I'd rather have an 80% Jamie Vardy than no Jamie Vardy at all, because of what he gives the team and his threat."

Rodgers also confirmed Wilfred Ndidi is fit to start but Nampalys Mendy (knee) and Wes Morgan (illness) will not be available.
