The Brit has not played a competitive match since his defeat to Sam Querrey at Wimbledon in July, and hopes to return to the court in January.
With Novak Djokovic also absent, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are the headline acts in London after locking out the Grand Slams this season.
Nadal won the French and US Open titles while Federer followed his Australian Open triumph with a record eighth Wimbledon crown.
The pair join Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Marin Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov, David Goffin and Jack Sock in the capital as the world's best-ranked eight players battle it out for the season-ending title.
Each will play three group matches with the top four advancing to the semi-finals.

The ATP World Tour Finals will start on Sunday, November 12 and run until Sunday, November 19 with play commencing at 12pm daily.
The tournament will take place at the 02 Arena in London.
