Attempted abduction of 13-year-old girl in Sylvan Lake

Teen killed, 2 others injured in head-on crash near New Harbour

RCMP are investigating after reports a man tried to abduct a 13-year-old girl in Sylvan Lake.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Monday when the girl, who was out walking with friends, left and set off on her own.

Shortly after she noticed a "vehicle being operated in a suspicious manner" according to police, and she hid in a nearby bush.

The man in the suspicious vehicle got out and grabbed the girl, pulling her hair. There was a struggle, police said, and the girl was able to break free of the man and run away.

A male passenger remained in the vehicle during the incident and reportedly said "Let's find another one."

Police are looking for the two men and included these descriptions in a press release:

Suspect one

- 5'10 to 5'11

- Late 20s

- Caucasian, pale skin

- Darker hair (brown)

- Longer hair, down to eyebrows

- Khaki pants

- Black hoodie with zipper in front

- Bump on his nose similar to someone who has broken their nose before

- Average weight

- Talked in a low voice

- Believed to be right handed

Suspect two

- Caucasian male

- Never gets out of the passenger side of the vehicle

Vehicle

- White newer style four door

- Rear windows are tinted

- Black tires on black rims (what the victim could see which is only drivers side)

- Rear fin over the trunk
