Snake eats snake in viral Australian video

Dave Weidman of Toowoomba Snake Catchers 24/7 stumbled upon a rare yet gruesome sight when attending to a local call, according to The Telegraph.

Weidman posted a video to the company’s official Facebook page on Sunday. In it, we find Weidman rummages through a client’s garage when he discovers two small-eyed snakes – one of which is already half-eaten by the other.

“It is common for snakes to eat other snakes, but less common to get it on video,” Weidman narrates while untangling the losing serpent’s tail.

The rest of the video shows the lucky snake finishing its meal. It’s kind of a slow process, so if this type of stuff gets you squeamish, you should probably avoid this part.

This is common practice among small-eyed snakes, which also eat other small lizards and their eggs, according to the Queensland Museum.
