The severe storms that hit Central Alabama this week left a path of destruction behind -- including downed power lines and property damage that included a boat wrapped around a tree.

Yes, you read that right.

What you're seeing is an image snapped by workers at the Central Alabama Electric Cooperative while crews were out assessing storm damage.

"From our crews working in Dallas County as they assess the damage to the area -- that's a boat y'all," the company said on Twitter.

"Please take these storms seriously throughout the afternoon and night."

On Wednesday, severe storms hit several states in the U.S. South, generating at least 21 tornadoes by the early evening.

Upwards of 45 million Americans were in a high-risk zone for severe storms Wednesday. That risk moved south Thursday, with additional storms in the forecast.
