Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun threw the ultimate pop-punk engagement party

Avril Lavigne is celebrating her engagement to Mod Sun, pop-punk style.

The 37-year-old took to Instagram over the weekend to share a video with her more than 10.5 million followers, showcasing a few highlights from her recent engagement party. The video was ironically set to the soundtrack of her song "Love Sux" — the title track of her latest album.

"Kiss Me Like The World Is Ending," she captioned the video, with additional text in the video that reads, "We're having a pre-wedding wedding."

The "Sk8er Boi" singer's post was met with praise and congratulatory comments from fans who thought her engagement party was peak pop-punk princess.

"This is very on-brand. I love it. You both look so happy. Congratulations, you two," one Instagram user commented, while another added, "Cries in pop-punk. Congratulations guys."

"Most perfect couple in history," someone else wrote.

"Pop-punk king and queen. Here for it," another added.

"I love how true you are to your style/aesthetic and that you found someone who is the exact same. You two are definitely a perfect match. Congratulations to you both!" another commenter wrote.

Lavigne and Mod Sun reportedly began dating in 2021 after meeting while working on her latest album. The Canadian pop-punk princess announced her engagement to Mod Sun last month with a set of photos of him on one knee, popping the question in front of the Eiffel Tower.

“I knew we had a very strong unstoppable connection from the first week of writing and working together in the studio. Immediately," Lavigne told People of her now-fiancé. "He made every day better. It was like I had known him forever. As time went on, things kept getting better, and it felt incredibly natural.”
