Avril Lavigne shows off her pop-punk style while teasing new collaboration
Avril Lavigne is staying true to her pop-punk roots.
On Thursday, the "Complicated" singer was featured in a TikTok shared by fellow pop-punk artist, Yungblud, hinting that the pair plan to join forces and release a song together.
In the clip, the singers dance to Yungblud's song, "Tissues" — both, wearing all-black outfits. Lavigne rocked a pair of zippered pants with a black leather jacket, while Yungblud opted for a pair of pinstripe pants with a matching jacket.
"Somethin's coming," he captioned the post, paired with a black heart and a skull and crossbones emoji.
Fans rushed the comments section with applause in anticipation of the upcoming musical alliance.
"OK, but what's coming? Why does everything have to be so complicated?" one fan joked, while another commented, "Ready for this."
"The duo we never knew we needed," someone else wrote.
"The collab we always needed but never knew," another added.
One fan pointed out that Lavigne, 37, and Yungblud, 25, look much closer in age than they are.
"Can we please talk about how they literally look the same age?" they penned.
Another person shared: "Omg, I love this!"
Music isn't the only collaboration Lavigne has dabbled in this year. Last month, the "Sk8er Boi" singer teamed up with the alt fashion brand Killstar for a new collection.
Two days before the line dropped, Killstar shared a photo on Instagram of the Canadian icon that garnered fast praise from fans who looked forward to shopping the collection.
"Chill out, what ya yellin’ for? Click the link in our bio to become a Killstar VIP and gain early access to our extra special drop," the brand captioned the photo, which shows Lavigne posting in a bodycon skeleton dress, skull and crossbones hair clips, and chunky black boots.
The photo was met with a supportive response from fans who thought Lavigne and Killstar were a match made in heaven and praise for Lavigne's consistent aesthetic.
"I love how she has stayed true to her punk style for her entire life. She really knows who she is. Love this! Can't wait to buy," one Instagram user replied to the post.
"Yes! The teenager in me is simply screaming!" wrote another.
"Fashion has always been a way for me to express myself and I do whatever comes naturally to me at that moment," Lavigne told Yahoo Canada about the launch. "My style is rock 'n' roll. I like baggy pants and hoodies, skate shoes and combat boots. I think you can really see that in this collection as it is a little bit of everything, but it complements each other well."
