Aylmer management role changed after resignation

Aylmer’s corporate services director position will be repurposed as a manager of planning and development at a reduced salary.

The unanimous decision was made by town council in a closed virtual meeting on Monday, March 29.

This follows the resignation of Corporate Services Director Kale Brown, who has worked at the town since 2016. Mr. Brown handed in his resignation letter last month and is taking a role with another organization.

In his letter, Mr. Brown wrote, “I have enjoyed my time at the Town, I am proud of the team that has been built and I believe the actions taken in my time here will continue to benefit the community for years to come.”

Chief Administrative Officer Andy Grozelle said, that while they were sad to see Mr. Brown depart, “The reorganization will allow us to bring a higher level of planning expertise in house which will overall support residents and developers in getting prompt responses on potentially complex matters.”

The posted starting wage for the new Manager of Planning and Development position is $90,253.80. Mr. Brown was paid $128,259 in salary and $1,244.06 in taxable benefits throughout 2020.

“So, the change will have a net positive reduction to salaries in the town,” noted Mr. Grozelle.
