B.C. kids crowned winners at major dance competition in Philippines

The long hours of practice have paid off for a pair of hip hop dancing teenagers from Richmond, B.C.

Reyond Lucky Ancheta and Andree AC Bonifacio were crowned the winners of Dance Kids, a nationally-televised competition in the Philippines, on Sunday.

AC teared up when she was announced the winner.

"We are just so, so, so, so happy. It's unexplainable," she said. "We never thought that we could win. We just made sure that we worked very hard for it, because all the other contestants in the show were so good."

Her partner Lucky is still in shock at winning an event that's akin to winning the American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance competitions in Manila.

"The weird thing is that it really didn't hit me yet that we won. I still feel like nothing but I'm so happy."

The dancing duo won the equivalent of roughly $30,000, a shopping spree, a trip to Disneyland, a talent contract and a house and lot in the Philippines.

Lucky Aces got worldwide attention when they appeared twice on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

For now, they're on tour in the Philippines, but they want to build their careers in Canada.

"We still really really wanna go back to Canada because all of the rest of our families are there and all of our friends."
