'Babyteeth': Eliza Scanlen stars in exclusive new clip from stunning teen drama

This week sees the long-awaited release of acclaimed Aussie drama Babyteeth in UK cinemas. Featuring a quartet of powerhouse acting performances, it’s an emotionally-charged and stylish film that deals with the feverishness of first love and the visceral intensity of impending grief.

Starring Eliza Scanlen (Sharp Objects/Little Women), Ben Mendelsohn (Captain Marvel/Rogue One), Essie Davis (The Babadook/True History of the Kelly Gang) and Toby Wallace (The Society) it tells the story of a young girl who falls for a wayward junkie, and the impact it has on her life, her parents, and her cancer treatment.

We’re absolutely thrilled to share a new look at the film featuring Eliza Scanlen and Toby Wallace to give you a sneak peek at the film, which has a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, before it hits cinemas on 14 August.

The film premiered at the 2019 Venice Film Festival where it was met with strong reviews, winning Wallace the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor or Actress.

It’s the feature directing debut of upcoming filmmaker Shannon Murphy, who directs from an original screenplay by Rita Kalnejais, who also wrote the stage play on which it’s based.

Picturehouse Entertainment’s Babyteeth is in UK cinemas from Friday, 14 August.
