Ball hockey starts spring / summer registration

The New Tecumseth Ball Hockey League is forging ahead with an optimistic view going into the spring and summer ball hockey season.

The local club has announced it is beginning registration for the spring / summer season.

With a minor league, woman's league, and men's league, there's a place for everyone who wants to play one of Canada's favourite sports.

The minor league runs mixed teams in the Tyke, novice, Atom, and Peewee, divisions, as well as girls Atom, Peewee and Junior, and boys Bantam and Junior Divisions.

Minor league season starts on April 25, with a registration deadline of April 4.

In the Women's league, there is an 18+ competitive division, 18+ recreational, and a 30+ league.

The Women's league has a registration deadline of April 14, and will get underway on May 4 or 5.

The Men's is open for players in the 18+ division and the 30+ division.

The Men's division will get underway on May 3 or 6, with a registration deadline on April 14.

League executive aware are of possible uncertainty when it comes to completing the season. They state that arena protocol will continue from the late summer and winter seasons as directed by the province, Town, and the Ball Hockey Federation who provide league insurance.

If you want to register you shouldn't waste time getting your name in there.

There is a four team limit for every division with smaller roster sizes than normal. Therefore spaces will be limited in every division.

New Tecumseth Ball Hockey is an organized version of the sport that is played on streets and roadways across the country.

It has spread in popularity over the past several years.

The New Tecumseth Ball Hockey League has produced several championship teams and has teams to international competition.
