A barman administered his own chemical justice when he saw a man slipping a drug into a woman’s drink in the bar where he worked.

He was working when he saw a man appear to slip something into a woman’s drink, he confessed via the app Whisper.

The barman – who remained anonymous – said that he waited for his opportunity, then swapped the two identical drinks around.

Instead of drugging a potential victim, the man drugged himself.

The Whisper user says, ‘‘I’m a bartender. Last night I saw a guy drug a girl’s drink.’

‘When he wasn’t looking I switched the drinks. Watched the guy drug himself.’

Confessions via the app are anonymous – so we have no way to confirm this story – and many people use Whisper as a way to air confessions they could otherwise never tell others.

The NHS says that hundreds of people are thought to be the victims of ‘drink spiking’ in the UK every year – and offers information on what to do here.
