‘Bat Kid’ Is Cancer-Free Five Years After ‘Saving’ San Francisco
Five years after he marched down the streets of San Francisco fighting crime dressed up as Batman, Miles Scott is officially cancer-free, Make-A-Wish Bay Area announced Thursday.
At the end of his leukemia treatment five years ago, the then five-year-old Scott — who was given the nickname “Bat Kid” — marched down the Gotham-decorated city streets dressed up as the Dark Knight and fought crime while an estimated 25,000 people cheered him on. The moment, which instantly went viral, was coordinated by Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area and other of the city’s luminaries including former mayor Ed Lee, the San Francisco police and fire Departments and the San Francisco Giants.

While “Bat Kid” will always be a part of him, Scott now spends his time living the life of a normal pre-teen, which includes playing baseball, going to school, and helping on his family farm, Jenny Wilson, spokeswoman for the Make-a-Wish Foundation Greater Bay Area, told Fox News.
After news that Scott was cancer-free hit the web, fans of the young superhero took to Twitter to rejoice.
