Batten down the hatches: Windy weather forecast for southern B.C.

There is more warm weather in the forecast for B.C. but not before a blast of cold windy weather hits later today and into tomorrow.

Environment Canada is forecasting winds of up to 90 km/h for Greater Victoria and up to 70 km/h on other parts of the South Coast on Tuesday afternoon as the cold front crosses the region.

In the Interior warm weather is expected to accelerate the melting of snow on Tuesday, raising concerns about rising rivers and possibly more flooding, before the cold front hits the region by Wednesday morning.

The flooding concerns have triggered an evacuation order for parts of the Okanagan Indian Band Reserve #1

After the cold front blows through southern B.C. a warm stretch of weather is forecast to settle across the province for the coming week.
