Bay Bulls doubles up on Christmas hamper donation

The Town of Bay Bulls is doubling its annual Knights of Columbus Christmas hamper donation.

“This year we’ve decided that we’re going to double our donation and go with a $500 donation of vegetables and a $500 cash donation,” said Deputy Mayor Wendy O’ Driscoll during the November 10 council meeting. “It’s been a pretty tough year for many people, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight yet.”

Council also voted to donate $300 to the tree lighting committee as well as $200 to the Holy Trinity Women’s Guild $200 — to match donations it had earlier made to the Catholic Church.

Council denied a Children’s Wish Foundation request for a donation earlier in the meeting, as it did not fit the town’s donation policy.
