Beach stabbing suspects sought

A 34-year-old London resident was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after being stabbed in an altercation in Port Stanley.

Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that they responded to the main beach area at about 8:46 p.m. on Sunday, June 6. Central Elgin Fire and Emergency Medical Services also attended.

Police investigation revealed there had been an ongoing conflict between two groups of individuals in close proximity to one another on the beach when a physical altercation broke out, leaving the London resident stabbed.

The suspect and two other group members immediately fled the area, and have not been located.

Police are asking for public assistance in identifying the three individuals that left the scene. Anyone with information about this incident can call OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
