Beaufort County towns to remember 9-11 attacks that killed 3,000. Here are the details

Three Beaufort County communities plan to publicly honor and remember those who died and served following the terrorist attacks on the country on Sept. 11, 2001.

Ceremonies are planned Wednesday at:

Waterfront Park in Beaufort. Held by the Exchange Club and the city of Beaufort, the event is from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Buckwalter Place Park at the Veterans Memorial on 2 Venture Dr. in Bluffton. The event is at 8:30 a.m.

Veteran’s Memorial Park located at 59 Shelter Cove Lane on Hilton Head Island. The ceremony is at 8:30 a.m.

Wednesday marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pa.
