Bell Aliant phone and internet service restored for 1,000 customers
Bell Aliant customers in northern Newfoundland and southern Labrador appear to have their phone service back following a fibre break near Norris Point.
Approximately 1,000 customers north of Port Saunders to Black Tickle in Labrador were without power service, while internet and cell service wasn't working for customers north of Norris Point.
Bell Aliant confirmed Monday afternoon that internet and phone service is back to normal.
An aerial cable was damaged by heavy equipment between Deer Lake and Norris Point, sparking the outage, according to a spokesperson.
