Bella Hadid celebrates five months of being alcohol-free: 'Let’s normalize not drinking'

Fans are giving Bella Hadid a major round of applause after she recently shared that she’s been alcohol-free for five months and counting.

The model quietly announced the news in the caption of a recent TikTok, which was shared during a trip to Vegas.

“5 months alcohol free,” Hadid wrote in the post caption, which quickly prompted thousands of replies.

“Congrats!!!” wrote one fan.

“So proud of you,” added another.

“Yess let’s normalize not drinking alcohol plz,” someone else chimed in.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, Hadid was actually in Las Vegas for a Kin Euphorics event — the nonalcoholic wellness beverage brand she heads with partner and co-founder Jen Batchelor.

Batchelor initially launched Kin Euphorics in 2018 as a healthy alternative to sugary mocktails, infusing them with adaptogenic herbs, nootropics and botanicals. But in 2021, Hadid joined the team after trying the beverage out for herself and embarking on her own “sober-curious” journey.

“I have done my fair share of drinking,” Hadid told InStyle in Jan. 2022. “I loved alcohol and it got to the point where even I started to cancel nights out that I felt like I wouldn’t be able to control myself.”

But after undergoing some eye-opening brain scans that showed the effects alcohol had on her brain, Hadid said it became “a lot harder to pick up the glass.” So, she picked up Kin instead.

Hadid said she began by drinking Lightwave, one of Kin’s sparkling beverages that features a mix of lavender, vanilla, smoked sea salt and passionflower. From there, she was hooked.

“I drink this when I have crippling anxiety and I can’t leave my house or when I’m not gonna drink alcohol but still want to loosen up and be able to speak to people and socialize,” she told InStyle at the time.

To her surprise, it also began to help her stress-related insomnia.

“It doesn’t put you slap on your butt, asleep for 15 hours, but it does really calm your brain, your nervous system, and those late-night thoughts,” the model shared. “I drink it before bed and I sleep like a baby.”

At this week’s event, Kin announced that its products will now be available in minibars and rooms at OMNIA Nightclub in Caesars Palace to offer guests nonalcoholic options that will still boost their mood and make them feel good.
