Bella Hadid Raises the Bar on At-Home Style Thanks to This Cool New York Designer

Like many of us, Bella Hadid is doing her part in slowing the spread of coronavirus by social distancing and sheltering in place. Yesterday, she posted a photo looking nestled on her bed. The model is known for her forward-thinking street style, and her at-home Instagram selfie wasn’t without its major fashion moment. Instead of sporting the comfy loungewear or a sweatsuit, Hadid slipped on a coat by one of fashion’s buzziest brands.

“A girl and her favorite yellow jacket: a series,” Hadid captioned the mini photo shoot, showing off her yellow button-up jacket from Bode, the menswear label by CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist Emily Bode, who creates one-of-a-kind garments using vintage textiles. Hadid styled the special piece in a way only she can: without a top underneath, adding accessories such as a black bandana headscarf, a pearl necklace, and giant gold hoop earrings.

Lately, celebrities with an active presence on social media have been gravitating towards more subdued, casual-minded looks. In comparison, Hadid’s more look feels altogether more playful and wholeheartedly her. It was a refreshing reminder that fashion can have a mood-boosting and life-affirming effect, even as we continue to shelter in place.
