A 63-year-old has been arrested by the Windsor police after a six-month investigation into child pornography.

The Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit launched an investigation in March 2023 after police say they received reports of someone uploading child pornography online in the Belle River area, according to a statement released Thursday.

On Sept. 12, 2023, officers executed a search warrant at a house in the 200 block of Bayberry Crescent. During their investigation investigators took several electronic devices, including computers, hard drives, and cellular phones for further examination.

On Tuesday, a 63-year-old man from Belle River was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and five counts each of accessing child pornography and transmitting child pornography.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Windsor Police ICE Unit or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous and anyone who needs support can contact Victim Services Windsor Essex County or the Victim Assistance Unit of the Windsor Police Service.
