Two men who died following a wrong-way crash in Tacoma last month have been identified, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Both men were injured in the wreck and later died at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma.

About 3:50 a.m. Oct. 29, Thomas C. Greenan of Bellingham, 24, was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-705, just south of state Route 509 in Tacoma.

Meanwhile, Hassan H. Ali, 43, of Seattle, was driving north on I-705. Troopers say Greenan crashed head-on into Ali’s car.

Drugs or alcohol were thought to have played a role in the wreck, according to State Patrol.

Following the crash, the road was blocked for about six hours.
