Yesterday, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's daughter, Violet Affleck, made a surprise appearance on Lynda Lopez's (Jennifer Lopez's sister) Instagram feed. While much of the world was scratching their heads over the unexpected team-up, so were Violet's parents. Sources close to the exes explained that Ben and Garner are "confused" about Violet's "attachment" to the Lopez family.

"Violet has a strong attachment to J.Lo and her family," a source shared with The Daily Mail. "It’s quite confusing to Ben and Jen [Garner] because they do not understand why Violet is so adamant on keeping her close."

The source added, "[Violet] looks up to J.Lo and Lynda and is intent on keeping the bond alive." They also noted that it was Violet who initiated the meet-up, saying, "Violet said that she just reached out to her and said she wanted to come visit."

Of course, fans will remember that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck ended their marriage earlier this year after a short-lived marriage. Fans will also remember that since the breakup, Lopez and Affleck—along with the Affleck-Garner children—have been spotted together at places like the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills.

The source added that Ben was unaware that Violet had plans to hang out with his ex-sister-in-law.

"The first time Ben saw this photo was online," the source said, also noting that Violet's parents feel like things could have stayed off of social media. "He wasn't aware that Lynda was visiting. But Violet is an adult, and she is allowed to do as she pleases and spend time with who she wants to. Ben and Jen feel Lynda and Violet could have spent time together and even taken a cute photo together without it going online for the world to see."
