The duo confirmed their romance a year ago when Gomez liked and left comments on Instagram posts mentioning their relationship in December 2023, before sharing a look at a special “B” ring on her left ring finger. From there, the pair have attended a Los Angeles Lakers game together, joined forces at the Golden Globes and the 2023 Emmy Awards and continued to gush about their time together. Gomez detailed how her relationship with Blanco makes her feel safe in a February interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1's New Music Daily.

“Without getting into too much detail, I think it's just really important to meet someone that respects you,” she explained at the time. “And I think it's really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I'd have to say overall it's the safest that I feel and it's been really lovely and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome.”
