One of the most recognizable beauty-world icons doubles as an incredibly simple Halloween costume. First spotted on the R/Makeup Addiction thread on Reddit, the Sephora Bag Costume is about to become a staple in the genre of last-minute Halloween outfits.
“This was an easy but fun costume! It was also my first time ever applying/wearing false eyelashes! Many a mistake was made,” Reddit user Lauraziam wrote about her already famous look. She wore a black-and-white striped dress to turn her body into the bag, then fashioned a headband out of the red tissue paper that shoppers will recognize as the stuff they rip through to get to their lovingly wrapped beauty goodies. She even added a Sephora bag around her wrist just to drive the costume home.
This being a Sephora costume, the outfit wouldn’t be complete without makeup. Lauraziam used 19(!) beauty products to top off the outfit. Naturally, Sephora shopper faves like Fenty Beauty highlighter, Kat Von D foundation, and Too Faced mascara made the cut.
Of course, the beauty lovers who make up the Makeup Addiction thread are all loving this look. “If I ever need a grown-up costume again, I’m borrowing this idea!” wrote one commenter.
Another fan upped the ante with the best idea for a grown-up version of trick-or-treating: “I was going to do the Sephora bag too and carry a Sephora bag full of samples around and give them out, but we ended up not going to any parties. So now I have all these samples lol.” Who needs candy when you have makeup samples?
