Bette Midler Has Some Huge News About That Hocus Pocus Sequel

"I can't wait to fly again."

The Sanderson Sisters are sure to get a few more fans now that pumpkin spice season is upon us and Halloween is popping up on iCal. And, according to Entertainment Tonight, there have been some developments in that Disney+ Hocus Pocus sequel. ET reports that the divine Bette Midler, Winifred Sanderson herself, basically confirmed that she's ready to get back into character, saying that she's "absolutely" ready to reprise her role, adding, "I can't wait to fly again!"

"Oh, yeah," she told ET when asked about the sequel. "We're just talking logistics."

Before today, Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker — the OG Sandersons — were quiet about their involvement. And while Parker and Najimy haven't commented just yet, Midler's enthusiasm may be contagious. In the meantime, the trio will be reuniting for "In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover," a one-hour special taking place on Friday, October 30, to benefit the New York Restoration Project. Other cast members from the 1993 classic are also set to appear.

Earlier this year, Collider reported that Hairspray director Adam Shankman would be directing the Disney+ sequel. He noted that he was looking to get the gang back together in some capacity, even if it meant that they wouldn't be the movie's top-billed cast members. Omri Katz, Thora Birch, Vinessa Shaw, and Doug Jones also starred in the original film, which the site notes didn't have a huge impact at the box office when it was in theaters, but later went on to become a seasonal favorite. It's so popular, in fact, that Freeform will be showing the film 14 times this year during its annual 31 Nights of Halloween programming.
