Beyoncé’s Oscars Week Gown Is a Recreation of a Look She Wore 16 Years Ago
It goes without saying that Beyoncé is the queen of statement dresses, from the intricately decorated Givenchy number at the 2015 Met Gala to her most recent Schiaparelli custom look that came complete with dramatic opera gloves for the Grammy Awards. The legendary singer just dropped another sartorial hit on her Instagram account with an evening gown which, upon closer inspection, is an homage to one of her famous looks from 16 years ago.
In her latest Instagram post, the “Alien Superstar” singer wowed in a sparkling gold ensemble. The head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana look is comprised of a sheer gold sequined, floor-length dress with a high neckline, a metallic waist-cinching corset belt. She stuck to the gold theme and styled it with a pair of gold platform sandals and a micro square-frame shades. Seeing as she has shared this outfit in Oscars week, it might have been a look from the ultra-exclusive after-party she hosted in Beverly Hills on Sunday night, or is just another glamorous look to delight her Instagram fans.
Die-hard fans might recognize the dazzling look, as it’s a nod to one from her extensive red carpet archive. In 2007, Beyoncé wore a similar dress by the same designer—but in silver and with an embellished scoop neck—to the BET awards in Los Angeles.
