Bill Clinton Mocks Marjorie Taylor Greene Over Weather Conspiracy Theory
Former President Bill Clinton swiped at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and her conspiracy theories about the weather during remarks in Georgia that prompted a burst of laughter from his audience.
The Democrat was campaigning Monday for Vice President Kamala Harris in the battleground state when he mentioned the Georgia congresswoman, who he said helps Donald Trump with his lies and fabrications.
The Republican nominee lied extensively about the federal response to Hurricane Helene, which left a path of destruction last month across the Southeast, including by claiming that Democratic leaders were neglecting conservative-leaning areas. Taking it a step further in a social media post earlier this month, Greene suggested that Democrats could have manufactured the storm to target Republican regions.
“So now they say we have the power to change the weather,” Clinton said. “I’ll tell you something, folks. I love being in politics and I love public service, but if I had had the power to change the weather, I’d have been in a different line of work. And, you know, I would have underwritten this entire campaign if that had happened.”
Clinton is among the prominent surrogates stumping for Harris, the Democratic nominee, as the race enters its final three weeks.
