Canadian rock bands Billy Talent and Big Wreck, singer-songwriter Shawn Hook and Petty Harbour's favourite son Alan Doyle will all be headlining at the Iceberg Alley festival in St. John's in September.

Ria Mae, the only female headliner, will be taking the stage with Shawn Hook on Sept. 14.

Other acts include Coleman Hell, Matt Mays, the Trews, 54-40, the Mavericks, Dallas Smith, Steve Earle & the Dukes, and more. Tickets are on sale now.

This will be the second year for the festival on Quidi Vidi Lake.

Iceberg Alley event manager Seamus O'Keefe said the 10-night festival needs to appeal to as many people as possible, so the line-up features a wide range of artists.

"People have different music tastes and genres that they look for, and there's not enough money in this economy to go 10 nights straight, so we try to find those artists that are selective and that will sell tickets," said O'Keefe.

"We range from Dallas Smith, a country-western songwriter, to our traditional night of Alan Doyle, Shanneyganock and Celtic Connection, through to other hip-hop and punk artists. I think we reflect the taste of what people are looking for."

The Iceberg Alley festival runs from Sept. 13-22 on the shores of Quidi Vidi Lake.

Doors open each night at 6 p.m., with ticket prices varying per night.
