When is Black Friday 2024? Dates and participating retailers

When is Black Friday 2024?
Black Friday 2024 will fall on Friday, November 29 and Cyber Monday 2024 follows on Monday, December 2.
Black Friday is always the Friday after the US national holiday of Thanksgiving (which is marked on the fourth Thursday in November), and Cyber Monday always falls on the Monday after Black Friday.
As such, the dates of Black Friday and Cyber Monday are different from one year to the next. In 2023, Black Friday fell on November 24 and Cyber Monday on November 27.
What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is now a global shopping event. A wide variety of retailers participate, from electronics and clothing shops to massive online retailers and department stores.
While Black Friday refers to one specific day, many brands continue their Black Friday discounts until the following Monday, which is known as Cyber Monday. Some sales even start significantly earlier in November, while other retailers continue discounts into December to make the most of the pre-Christmas shopping period.
As the shopping writers here at Digital Spy can attest, Black Friday often sees sought-after products discounted to all-time low prices. It's a smart time to shop, whether you're buying for yourself or looking for loved ones' Christmas presents.
With that said, some retailers reserve even better discounts for their January sales, which is another sale period that's well worth monitoring.
When do the UK early sales start?
In the UK, Black Friday deals start appearing from late October to early November, depending on the retailer. Bigger discounts tend to happen in the two weeks before the sale, but the biggest price drops happen from midnight on Black Friday, running until 11.59pm on Cyber Monday.

Which brands will take part in Black Friday 2024?
At this early stage, no major brands or retailers are talking about Black Friday 2024. However, experience tells us that most leading brands will mark this year's event with a good selection of discounts.
Some of the best Black Friday sales of 2023 came courtesy of Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, AO, Samsung and Ninja – and it's certainly worth watching these brands closely in the lead-up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2024.

What deals to expect on Black Friday
It's still too early to say exactly what is going to be discounted in 2024's Black Friday sale, but based on previous years we're expecting to see price drops on all sorts of popular products from some of the best smartphones and tablets to noise-cancelling headphones and Lego sets.
