As Khaira was skating out of the defensive zone, he dropped his head to look at the puck for a split second and never saw Trouba coming, who lined up the winger with a massive open-ice body check.
Khaira was knocked out from the collision, and was stretchered off the ice shortly afterward. He was taken by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital following an initial evaluation of what was labelled an "upper-body blow" by the Blackhawks.
Khaira has been released from the hospital and expected to make a full recovery, the Blackhawks announced on Wednesday.
Jujhar Khaira was released from the hospital this morning.

Trouba was not penalized on the play, but fought defenseman Riley Stillman moments after play resumed. Both players were assessed five-minute majors for fighting.
