Looks like Gossip Girl fans weren't the only ones unhappy with what went down in the series finale.

In a Instagram story post, Blake Lively reposted a meme that said, "We watched the entire series to find out it's Dan." Of course, GG fans who have finished the series will know that she's talking about the big reveal that Dan was Gossip Girl all along.

While fans have spent years disagreeing with the ending, Blake just revealed that she is also not a huge fan of the big reveal.

"YOU'RE surprised...Imagine how the writers felt," she wrote.

According to Bustle, the writers had to change the character behind the blog after an article came out revealing who they originally planned to be Gossip Girl.

"We worked hard to kind of lay in tiny seeds about it being Eric," producer Joshua Safran said. "Then the NY Post wrote an article saying that Gossip Girl was Eric so we were like, 'We gotta scratch that.'"

He also revealed that Nate was also up for consideration to being Gossip Girl, but that plan quickly changed in season five. Joshua later left the show after season five, so he didn't have a say in the big Dan reveal.

With the new HBO Max Gossip Girl reboot, Joshua now has the chance to turn things around as he is returning as creator and showrunner. Since the new series features a brand new cast and no one from the original has been confirmed to return just yet, this means there's someone different behind the iconic blog and we certainly can't wait to find out.
