Now we know: Justin Trudeau would rather fight 100 duck-sized horses than 1 horse-sized duck

Some of you might be a little too young to remember the classic Barbara Walters interview where she asked Katharine Hepburn what kind of tree she would be.

Well, during an interview with the student newspaper of the University of Prince Edward Island, Liberal leadership candidate Justin Trudeau was asked a hypothetical animal question.

The intrepid student reporter asked the Quebec MP if he'd "rather fight 100 duck-sized horses, or one horse-sized duck."

Here is Trudeau's answer:

"Oh, definitely 100 duck-sized horses. I was raised the eldest of a whole bunch of brothers and cousins, and I'm really good at fighting with crowds. One BIG duck would probably, ya know, scare me enough to just…freeze while it came down on me with its big angry beak. I mean, if you've ever tried to pet a Canada Goose you know how aggressive a single, normal-sized goose can get, and how ill tempered they can be, I would imagine that a large duck would be fairly unpleasant."

A former dean believes the reporter's question was actually a good one.

"It's a perfect job-interview question. To me, it's a bit more like an inkblot than a question that has a right or wrong answer," Dr. Hugh Arnold, formerly of the Rotman School of Management, told the Toronto Star.

"The nature and quality of the thinking in the response is more interesting than whether or not they got the right answer."

As for the quality of Justin's answer ...

We'll let you be the judge of that.
