This picture, taken last Thursday, of NDP leader Thomas Mulcair laughing at response given by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in the House of Commons has — as they say — 'gone viral.'

The picture perfectly encapsulates the mood of Question Period over the past week.

The NDP leader has — for the most part — been scoring points, getting the better of Harper grilling him with short poignant questions about the ongoing Senate expense scandal that has engulfed the government.

According to the Huffington Post, the photo was taken by Reuters' Chris Watte and first tweeted by Allison Sparling.

Her tweet alone had 911 re-tweets.
