Stephen Harper’s wife Laureen serenaded by Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block

The New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys brought their NKOTBSB show to the nation's capital Thursday.

Among the 12,500 fans, mostly screaming girls who filled Scotiabank Place, was Laureen Harper, the prime minister's wife, who not only had a great seat but was one of the lucky few to be asked on to the stage.

Howie D. of the Backstreet Boys brought four women from the audience on stage, including Harper, for the song "I'll Never Break Your Heart".

They sang to them on bended knees and presented each with a red rose.

"The poor lady looked nervous," wrote a blogger who attended the concert, adding that some fans even booed her.
