Bradley Cooper Opens Up About Alcoholism Affecting His Career

Bradley Cooper can certainly play an addict convincingly on the big screen, but it turns out the actor has admitted to having trouble with drugs and alcohol in real life, too.

The Hollywood hunk first admitted his addiction struggles to the Hollywood Reporter back in 2012, but now he's revealing even more about his battle in the January 2014 issue of GQ magazine, saying, "If I continued it, I was really going to sabotage my whole life."

The "American Hustle" star said that while he was never late or absent from work, he thought his performance was suffering as a result of his drug use. "I think work was getting f----- up…the best thing I can do is embrace who I am and then do that to the fullest extent, and then whatever happens, happens," he said. "The more steps I do to not do that, the farther I am away from fulfilling any potential I would have…so yes, of course it hindered my work."
