Photos: Stampeders practice in snow, build snowmen, including "Snow Levi Mitchell"

The Calgary Stampeders have been involved of some of the CFL's weirder weather events over the years, and this week continued that trend. The dump of snow that hit Calgary made Tuesday's team practice at McMahon Stadium an unusual one. Of course, the Stampeders are somewhat used to the elements; they played in the snow in October 2012 and in a frigid stadium surrounded by snow in last year's West Final. That may have helped them put a brave face on Tuesday's conditions and have some fun throwing snow around:

Following a challenge from the Ottawa Redblacks, they even took the opportunity to build snowmen:

And they lived up to their promise:

Juwan Simpson and Keon Raymond wound up finishing this particularly impressive snowman, which they dubbed "Snow Levi Mitchell" (after Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell):

After practice, defensive line coach and former Stampeder DT DeVone Claybrooks sacked the snow-quarterback:

No word on Snow Levi Mitchell's passing stats for the day, but that sack may have added him to the plethora of quarterback injuries in the league right now. At least he'll be more easily replaceable than most, though. After all, the Stampeders appear always ready to build a snowman.
