Quebec police say 40 'high risk' sex offenders arrested in provincewide operation
MONTREAL — Quebec provincial police say they've arrested 40 sex offenders in an operation involving multiple police forces across the province. The operation targeted people considered a high risk to reoffend. Police looked for offenders who had violated court-imposed conditions and those subject to arrest warrants. Police investigating after man plunges to his death from balcony
Toronto police say they're investigating if a man was pushed to his death from a balcony downtown late Wednesday.The incident happened just before midnight in the area of Church and Shuter streets.Paramedics told CBC Toronto that they transported a man in his 30s to a trauma centre. A Fort Smith, N.W.T., man who, when he was 17, shot and killed Jordan Tourangeau, has been sentenced to seven years for second-degree murder under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.That's the maximum sentence allowed under the act.
