Bartender and vocalist Joe Ardizzone has been performing for 12 years at piano bars in New York City, belting out songs after late shifts pouring drinks, according to a profile of him by Brandy's Piano Bar.

When Ardizzone put down the glasses and picked up the microphone one night recently at Brandy's, patron Cody Littlewood was impressed with his soulful cover of Radiohead's song Creep.

He recorded a video and uploaded it with a scene-setting description, which credits the piano playing to Nate Buccieri:

We were at a piano bar as it was closing down and the bartender stepped up to the mic and did this. He had been behind the bar working a full shift and shouting over the noise for several hours at least.

The video has been viewed more than 140,000 times on YouTube since Littlewood uploaded it on Oct. 19.

Ardizzone's performances have landed online in the past; a video from 2009 shows him serenading the bar with the song Hallelujah.

"Brandy's is one of the last piano bars left in New York City," says the description on the older video. "Located on Manhattan's Upper East Side, it is home to some of the the city's most talented artists."
