A puppy has been embraced by an entire team of baseball players after being abandoned in the parking lot of their stadium in Georgia.

Daisy was seven-weeks-old when the team president found her alone and crying last month on the Grayson Stadium grounds.

“She showed up on our doorstep. We immediately brought her in and gave her food and water, then took her to the vet for a checkup,“ Jared Orton told The Dodo.

"It’s not something we planned, but now we can’t imagine things without her.”

Orton and his wife adopted the pup, but she’s been embraced by both players and fans of the Savannah Bananas.

Daisy is still a tiny little pup, but there are high hopes for her future with the team. She is in the office everyday and the hope is that soon she will be a staple on the field as a bat dog.

“We aren’t sure how big she’ll get, so it’s hard to say if she’ll be able to pick up a bat or just coach first base,” Orton said, “but as she grows, she’ll be a fixture at the ballpark.”

Whatever job Daisy ends up with, its nice to know she has a field of friends waiting to play catch with her.
