Bodybuilder high on drugs breaks into German chancellor’s jet

How does a man carrying drugs manage to board a chancellor's military jet and dance in his underpants?

While the more intriguing question might be why a man identified as a bodybuilder walked onto the wing of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's jet on July 25, stripped down to his skivvies and started to dance, according to Spiegel Online — or why he then went inside and starting pushing the buttons in the cockpit, eventually releasing the blow-up emergency slide — investigators are trying to determine how he sneaked past security in the first place.

A leaked police log says a 24-year-old suspect named Volkan T. of Turkish descent, distraught by relationship problems, told staff he was planning a wedding in the military section of the Cologne-Bonn airport and then climbed over a fence to reach the jet while carrying marijuana and ecstasy, the BBC reported.

The plane held enough fuel to reach Beijing, according to the BBC, but the man had other plans. He spent about four hours having a private party on the plane and he caused about $163,800 in damage, some of it from fire extinguisher foam he sprayed all over the interior, according to Spiegel.

Media reported a police dog eventually bit his leg and authorities brought him to a psychiatric hospital. The incident is raising serious questions about leaky security, but the suspect, at least, appears to have had a good time.
