Computer glitch results in British student getting $6500 worth of Amazon products

Every day is like Christmas for Robert Quinn.

For the past week, the 22-year-old student in Bromley, south London, has been receiving Amazon packages addressed to him at his parents' house – and they keep coming.

So far Quinn has received 51 packages, containing everything from a baby buggy and a chest of drawers to a 55-inch television and a Galaxy tablet.

"At first I phoned up Amazon and they said that people must be 'gifting' them to me, but there's no way that's happening because I don't know any of these people," Quinn told The Daily Mail.

Quinn believes the packages were destined to be returned to the online retailer, but because of a computer glitch, they were redirected to his house.

"I don't think they've rectified the problem because I'm still getting more stuff."

The best part is the surprise of what's inside each box. Among the items Quinn has collected is a computer processor, a LEGO fire truck, a single bed, a PSP console and Dolce and Gabbana aftershave. The total value of everything he's acquired is estimated to be almost $6500 CDN.

And, according to Amazon, everything that he's received is his to keep.

"I was worried that people were losing out on their stuff so I phoned Amazon again and said I'm happy to accept these gifts if they are footing the cost, but I'm not happy if these people are going to lose out," Quinn said. "But Amazon said 'it's on us.'"

Ah, the joy of the season, indeed.
