Never got the hang of backing up? This video might inspire you to go back to driver’s ed.

A video titled “Calgary’s worst driver” went viral over the weekend.

-

In it, a female driving a BMW SUV struggles to back out of a half-empty parking spot — and manages to ram her vehicle into a nearby car.

It takes the driver a few minutes to successfully turn around her vehicle before leaving the parking lot— with the help of a good Samaritan, unaware the bad driver hit his vehicle just moments earlier — not stopping at the scene of the accident to check for damage.

Does this person have a driver’s license? Was a child driving? Was the driver under the influence of something? Was a child driving under the influence without a license?” asked the Calgary Herald as the Calgary Police Service launched an investigation following the report of the parking-lot crash.

Since the frustrating surveillance video went viral, Calgary police digital communications officer Constable Jeremy Shaw confirmed that an officer was able to track down the bad driver a few blocks from the parking lot. She was issued a $115 ticket for “unsafe backing.”

The woman is claiming she didn’t know she hit the other vehicle. Officers aren’t aware if she knows about her viral fame.

Police say the investigation is now complete.

Moral of the story: Don’t drive if you can’t.
