Craigslist ad desperately seeks football coach after man lied to girlfriend

If you know a lot about football, we may have found you a great way to earn an extra $500. You'll also be helping a man continue a lie for the sole purpose of impressing his girlfriend.

A man in New York has found himself in a bit of a pickle after telling his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend that he played quarterback in college.

He has now been invited to a Super Bowl party and doesn't want to look like an idiot in front of the ex who -did- play linebacker in college and more importantly his girlfriend. So to solve his problem, he posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a coach.

Unfortunately, since we first found the piece it was flagged for removal by Craigslist. Some pointed out that it may be a fake, but there is no evidence to say so.

"Last time I met him he told me he played football in college and I responded that I did as well - which was a lie," reads the ad on Craigslist. "I don't know why I lied, I guess I just panicked and wanted to impress my girlfriend."

The person who posted the ad told the ex he played quarterback because it was the only position he had heard of.

"This is really important to me," reads the post. "I think my girlfriend still really likes her ex and when we first started dating she cheated on me a few times with him, so I really can't risk looking like an idiot in front of both of them."

The anonymous person says all he knows about the sport is touchdowns score points and the ball is occasionally kicked.

He is offering $500 for someone to meet with him every night for two hours between now and the Super Bowl to teach him about the game. He is willing to pay more money if the person played quarterback professionally or in college and the successful applicant can make more for texting good comments to say while the big game is being played.

Not delivering the best information may have dire consequences. The man writes that he and his girlfriend are going through a rough patch and if he is caught lying the relationship may be over.

If this is the case, we're guessing it wouldn't be the first time lying has been the reason a relationship ended.
