A dishwashing champion has emerged in the online video sphere, unnamed and without a trophy but still very, very speedy with a dishcloth.

A video uploaded to YouTube shows a man standing in a large kitchen, likely in a restaurant, spinning plates with his rapid-fire cleaning and sending them flying like frisbees until his stack of 50 dishes has fallen to nothing in about 10 seconds.

The video was posted in September but it has circulated online in recent days, leaping to more than 54,000 views.

Some commented that this racing style of dishwashing might not be sanitary, while others suggested he might have simply been wiping and rinsing the dishes before putting them into a dishwasher of the machine variety.

If not, I think he missed a spot.

This man might have been awarded the unofficial title of world's fastest dishwasher, but could he compete in an endurance test? In order to beat the world record for the most dishes washed at one time, he would have to wash more than 23,892 dishes — taking on the workload of 150 people in Denmark when they set the record in 2004, according to Guinness World Records.
