Dashcam captures driver’s near-miss with semi truck going the wrong way on Highway 91

It was a very close call for one driver when a semi-trailer truck went up the off ramp, going the wrong way onto the highway.

But thanks to his quick action he was able to avoid any serious injuries.

As reported on Global News, Carl Frey was heading northbound on the Highway 91 offramp near the Alex Fraser Bridge in Delta, Mississippi when the truck began driving toward him in the wrong direction. Frey captured video of the scary incident on his dashcam.

“I guess it was a near-miss,” Frey told Global News. “It didn’t seem like it at the time.”

In the video, the truck is seen coming towards Frey and another car in front of him.

The first car manages to swerve pass the truck before it comes barreling straight towards Frey.

“I saw it farther ahead and I thought it was not on the street I was on,” Frey told Global News. “I thought it was going somewhere else until I came around corner and I realized, hey, we’re heading opposite directions on the same street.”

Fortunately, he is able to pull to the right as the truck drives past him and even avoided hitting a lamp standard on the side of the road.

As for the truck driver, he quickly pulled over and stopped after passing Frey.

“If had gone any further he would have been going the wrong way on Highway 91,” Frey said.
