Enormous rabbit looking for the right fit

The Glasgow SPCA’s search for a forever home for one of its rabbits has gone viral, thanks to the massive size of the animal.

Atlas is a continental giant rabbit, a breed of bunny that’s known for its big size, which is generally bred for its meat.

The seven-month-old butterscotch-coloured bunny is already the size of a Westie and is expected to grow even more.

“He is a very friendly rabbit who loves attention and getting cuddles,” the Scottish SPCA writes on their Facebook page. “Atlas is also an inquisitive boy who makes everyone laugh with his mischievous character.”

A potential forever home has to be able to accommodate for Atlas’ massive size.

“A standard rabbit hutch won’t do so his new owner will need plenty of space for him,” writes the rescue group. “Atlas needs an owner with the knowledge to properly care for him, so ideally someone who has kept a continental giant before.”

So far, the post has been shared more than 4,800 times and has garnered 3,000 comments, including interested prospects from around the world.

“He’s absolutely gorgeous - please please make sure that he goes to a good loving home,” writes one.

“Awwww, I would totally take this handsome boy! But I live in Arizona,” writes another.
