Face-slapping salon promises to smack the wrinkles away

It sounds like an anger management patient's dream job, but the owners of a brand new San Francisco salon swear their $350 face slapping treatment is a beauty secret passed down by generations of skilled aesthetic practitioners.

In fact, Tata, lead face-slapper at her eponymous Tata Massage parlor, claims the combination of skilled slapping, smoothing and pinching will leave your mug softer and more youthful-looking than an entire stable full of botulism.

As the Huffington Post notes, Tata's technique isn't just an ingenious way to channel rage into a moneymaking endeavour.

The entrepreneur is simply introducing American clients to a beauty treatment that has been popular in Thailand for years as a natural method that is supposed to stimulate blood flow, slim the face, shrink pores and combat wrinkles.

Face slapping is an art so exclusive that Tata is only one of 10 licensed smackers on the planet.

"This has been around for more than 100 years," Tata's husband and salon co-owner, Mawan Sombuntham, told the New York Daily News. "The reason why there are so few people who can do this is because [Tata's] teacher is very selective in choosing who to teach this technique to. She is only going to accept 10 students of face-slapping in her lifetime."

Later this year, Tata will return to Thailand for a follow-up course in butt punching.

HuffPo linked to a Bangkok Post video that explains the technique in more detail. It is also the best video you will see all day (or at least the next hour). Because it's good to know your options if you're considering a career change.
