Turkeys chase mailman down street in years long feud

There’s no love lost between a dog and the mailman, but now it seems letter carriers have a new foe to fear - turkeys.

A video of five turkeys chasing a mailman down the street in Falmouth, Maine was posted to Reddit by JTW24.

The video shows the man carrying a long pole directed behind him to keep his harassers at bay while.

The turkeys weren’t just in a ‘fowl’ mood that morning.

“Every day,” the man can be heard saying as he passed the camera.

If you’re wondering what lies beneath the feud, JTW24 commented on the post to say there’s no rhyme or reason to what the birds do.

“Sometimes I’ll wake in the morning and they’re [sic] on my roof,” he wrote.

In another video, turkeys are shown near the street where JTW24 said the post office is located just off camera.

The postal service brought in help to try to catch one of the turkeys a few years ago as it followed one of its trucks down the street.

The lone turkey obviously used that as a recruitment tool to build its numbers.

“People walk down the street, cars drive by, dogs go for walks, and I don’t see the turkeys do anything,” writes JTW24. “As soon as the mailman comes by though, they hunt him down.”
